Skytel Group, Mongolia's largest OTT player, has signed a ten-year agreement making NEXX5 the platform for its next-generation streaming service, ZEGi's first deployment in Mongolia.

Skytel Group, through its media subsidiary SKYmedia, has selected NEXX5 as the platform for its next-generation OTT service. Under a ten-year partnership agreement signed this summer, ZEGi will deliver its end-to-end NEXX5 platform, including the multi-screen client framework and the flexible Entertainment Control Center, as the foundation of Skytel's streaming offer for the years ahead. The agreement extends ZEGi's footprint in Asia and marks the group's first deployment in Mongolia.

Founded in 1999 as Mongolia's second mobile operator, Skytel Group has grown into one of the country's largest ICT groups and today holds 50% of the Mongolian OTT market, making it the country's largest OTT player. The group launched its IPTV business in 2012 and first shortlisted ZEGi back in 2018; with this agreement, ZEGi becomes its third OTT middleware partner, chosen to help Skytel expand its customer base and reach Mongolians in more than 107 countries around the world.

NEXX5 gives Skytel a single versatile platform for live TV and catch-up across smart TVs, smartphones, tablets and web. The Entertainment Control Center puts Skytel's content, marketing and product teams in charge of the user experience, content rules, packaging and promotions, from personalised screens and subscription channels to branded worlds built around specific audiences or partners, without having to wait for development cycles. The platform integrates with Skytel's existing video delivery and security infrastructure, protecting the investments already made in encoding, CDN and DRM.

Orange Belgium subscribes to ZEGi’s NEXX5 product roadmap under a new four-year agreement, bringing a continuous stream of new features, devices and capabilities to Orange TV.

Orange Belgium has signed a new four-year agreement with Zappware Entertainment Group international (ZEGi), subscribing to the NEXX5 product roadmap for the continued delivery and evolution of its TV platform. Orange TV customers can expect a continuous stream of new features over the coming years, from themed "Worlds of Entertainment" to an insights engine that turns viewing behaviour into engagement, across set-top boxes, mobile, web, Smart TVs and premium streaming devices such as Apple TV.

The agreement extends a partnership that began in 2014, when Orange Belgium (then Mobistar) chose Zappware to build the TV platform with which it entered the fixed broadband and TV market. Together, the two companies have delivered multiple generations of Orange TV, including a back-office migration in 2018 and a move to the cloud in 2021–2022, both completed without disrupting the live service.

In selecting ZEGi for the next phase, Orange Belgium pointed to three qualities it considers essential in a long-term technology partner: an innovation roadmap that keeps pace with changing viewing habits, a proven track record of stable operation over more than a decade, and a team that works as an extension of its own.
